At Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth in Pune, we, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication is dedicated to provide top-notch facilities that cater to the diverse academic and extracurricular interests of our students. Media CentreConsidering the challenges to be faced in this 21st Century, the Vidyapeeth has established the Media Center. The Vidyapeeth to utilize modern ICT facilities has developed Media Centre with a well-equipped studio. A professional studio is utilized by various courses especially to prepare lecture CDs of experts from different fields. These lecture CDs are made available to students. The Media Centre also caters to the need for Videography of various events organized throughout the year by various departments.
Our Media Centre is the heart of all media activities at the university and is one of the biggest media centres among Pune's different universities. Outfitted with cutting-edge technology, it supports video production, broadcasting, and multimedia presentations. This is where students get hands-on experience with the latest tools, turning their ideas into reality. The centre also includes a newsroom equipped with a teleprompter featuring C-DAC Multi- prompter technology, providing a professional environment for students to develop their broadcasting skills

• Video production: Students are creating various types of videos, including news reports, documentaries, and short films.
• Broadcasting: Students also practice live broadcasting and learn about the technical aspects of television and radio production.

Editing Lab

Editing Lab The Editing Lab features the latest software and hardware for both video and audio editing. With high-performance computers and industry-standard editing software, students can polish their projects to professional standards. The lab also includes specialized equipment for color grading and sound mixing.

• Video and audio editing: Students can edit videos and audio files using industry-standard software.
• Post-production: Students can learn about the post-production process, including color correction, sound design, and special effects.






Production Control Room

Production Control Room Our versatile Production Control Room is equipped with top-tier cameras, lighting, and sound equipment. It provides a professional environment for creating high-quality films and television content ( News, Fiction & Non Fiction), supporting both academic projects and extracurricular activities.

• Film and media content creation: Students are producing high-quality films, TV shows, and other media content.
• Technical operations: Students also learn about the technical aspects of media production, such as camera operation, lighting, and sound.






Photography Studio

Photography Studio The Photography Studio is packed with state-of-the-art cameras, lighting equipment, and backdrops. It’s a professional setting where students can learn and practice various photography techniques, from portrait to product photography & Automobile Photography.

Uses:
• Photography practice: Students can practice various photography techniques, including portrait, landscape, and product photography.
• Experimentation: Students can experiment with different lighting setups, backdrops, and props to create unique images.






Sound Recording Studio with Foley Room

Sound Recording Studio with Foley Room Our Sound Recording Studio is a high-tech facility for audio recording and production. It includes a Foley Room for creating and recording sound effects, making it a comprehensive space for sound design. Equipped with professional microphones, mixing consoles, and acoustically treated rooms, it ensures top-notch sound quality. Our sound studio is collaborated with avid technology. This technology globally accepted in the media industry we provide avid certification to the students.

• Audio recording: Students can record music, voice-overs, and sound effects.
• Sound design: Students can create sound effects and Foley sounds for films, TV shows, and other media projects.






Dolby Atmos Theatre ( Shivaji Mandir)

Dolby Atmos Theatre ( Shivaji Mandir) The Dolby Atmos Theatre offers an immersive audio experience, perfect for enhancing film screenings and audio projects. With a Dolby Atmos sound system, it provides a 3D audio experience that brings projects to life. The theatre also features an S6 machine, which is essential for precise sound mixing and control, offering students the opportunity to work with professional-grade audio equipment. This theatre is an invaluable resource for students studying film, media, and audio production.

• Immersive audio experiences: Students can experience the latest in surround sound technology and learn about the importance of audio in media production.
• Film and media projects: Students can use the Dolby Atmos theater to showcase their film and media projects.






AVID Exam Process

AVID Exam Process Department of Journalism and Mass Communication conducts an AVID exam to ensure students are proficient in using AVID software and equipment. The process is as follows: • Requisition: Students fill out a requisition form 24 hours before the exam. • Time Slot: They book a one-hour time slot for their exam. • Exam Format: The exam is multiple-choice (MCQ) based. • Passing Criteria: Students must achieve a passing percentage of 80% to pass the exam.






End-to-End Music Production Hub

End-to-End Music Production Hub Our Music Production Hub is a complete setup for creating, recording, mixing, and mastering music. It includes a variety of instruments, recording equipment, and software to support the entire music production process, making it ideal for aspiring music producers and sound engineers.

Analogue Outboard Equipment

Analogue Outboard Equipment The Analogue Outboard Equipment gives students the chance to work with traditional analog recording and mixing gear. This setup includes compressors, equalizers, and other essential equipment, helping students understand the nuances of analogue sound and how to blend it with modern digital workflows.

Dubbing Studio

Dubbing Studio Our Dubbing Studio is designed for high-quality voice-over and dubbing projects. It features professional microphones, soundproofing, and software for recording and editing voice tracks. This studio supports a variety of projects, from film and animation to video games and educational content. We also provide a vibrant space dedicated to fostering creativity in digital media.
