Aims & Objectives The main objective of this course is to provide the students with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the History and Culture with the help of basic historical concepts, theories, various approaches and schools of Historiography.


Course Highlights M.A. History is a two years course introduced with Core History subjects, Inter-disciplinary subjects and electives which helps the students to understand the basic relation of History with other subjects. The M.A. History course is being run in 'Regular Mode' and 'External Mode'.


Duration 2 Years


Eligibility 1) Any graduate in any faculty of a statutory University or of any other institution recognized by the UGC is eligible for admission to the first year of M.A. course.
2) A Foreign student can be admitted only as a 'Regular Student' to the M.A. course after the completion of all the technical necessities. (such as 'Visa', 'Medical Certificate', 'Passport', 'Police Registration Papers' and other essential technicalities)

40 Marks :Internal or Assignments


Admission Procedure • Admission is open during every academic year in the months of July/August/September
• Last date for M.A. (History) Regular students is 31st August without late fee and 31st September with late fee.
